Cookie Policy

Cobalt Communication Solutions LtdLast updated 19-Aug-2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Cobalt Communication Solutions Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) on our website ( https://cobalt.so ). It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle personal information more broadly.

The short version: this site sets no cookies at all unless you choose Accept on the cookie banner. If you do accept, we load Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement, which tells us whether an advert we have paid for led to an enquiry. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites or to build an advertising profile of you. Your choice is remembered so we don't keep asking.

Strictly Necessary Storage

When you make a choice on the cookie banner, we record it in your browser's local storage under the key cobalt-cookie-consent, with a value of either granted or denied. This entry contains no personal information — it exists solely so the site remembers your decision and the banner doesn't reappear on every visit. It stays in your browser until you clear your site data.

The site needs no other cookies or storage to function.

Analytics and Advertising Cookies (Optional)

If — and only if — you choose Accept, the site loads Google's tag, which serves two purposes. Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how the site is used (which pages are visited, how people move through them, roughly where visitors come from) so we can improve it. Google Ads conversion measurement tells us whether someone who arrived from one of our adverts went on to send us an enquiry or tap our phone number, so we know which advertising is worth paying for. Nothing is loaded and no request is made to Google before you accept.

Once accepted, Google sets the following cookies:

  • _ga — distinguishes one visitor from another; lasts up to 2 years
  • _ga_[container id] — keeps count of visits and holds session state; lasts up to 2 years
  • _gcl_au — records that you arrived from a Google advert, so an enquiry can be matched back to it; lasts up to 90 days
  • _gcl_aw — stores the advert click identifier used for that same matching; lasts up to 90 days

Google's tag runs here under Google's Consent Mode. Everything is denied by default; choosing Accept grants analytics storage together with the advertising storage and signals Google needs to attribute an enquiry to an advert click. Choosing Decline, or ignoring the banner, leaves all of them denied and the tag is never loaded at all. For details of how Google processes this data, see Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy

What We Don't Use

  • No remarketing or retargeting — we do not build advertising audiences from your visit
  • No social media tracking pixels
  • No selling or sharing of your data with third parties for their own advertising
  • Nothing whatsoever before you choose Accept

If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first and your consent asked again where the law requires it.

Changing Your Mind

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page, which reopens the banner. You can also delete this site's cookies and site data through your browser settings, after which you'll be asked afresh on your next visit. If you withdraw consent, no further analytics or advertising measurement data is collected; cookies already set can be removed via your browser.
