About Cobalt

Our Values

Four promises we hold ourselves to — with each other, and with every customer.

These weren't written by a marketing agency. They came out of twelve months of honest conversations across the team about who we are when we're at our best. They shape every decision, every ticket and every conversation we have.

What we hold ourselves to

Four promises

Own it

If it lands on us, it stays with us until it's done.

We don't pass tickets around. Whoever picks one up owns it to the finish, and can make the call themselves rather than wait for permission. When something goes wrong we fix it first and work out why afterwards, without hunting for someone to blame. If your email breaks at four o'clock, the person who answers stays with it.

Tell the truth

We're upfront, even when it's uncomfortable.

If a fix is going to take two days, we say two days. We don't hide behind a misunderstanding or dress a mistake up as a process problem. When something changes you hear it from us before you notice it yourself, including when the change is our fault and it costs us money.

Win together

Nobody succeeds here alone.

Engineers, sales and support sit in the same building and solve things in the same conversation. Our job doesn't finish when the invoice is raised. If your new phone system is technically live but nobody in the office knows how to transfer a call, we haven't finished.

Always improve

Doing it the same way is not always the best way.

We're paid to know what's coming, so we invest in the technology before our clients need it. We listen when someone tells us a process is clumsy, including our own people. If a customer asks us the same question three times, we change the instructions rather than answer it again.

Values are easy to write and hard to live. Get in touch and judge us on the second one.
